the usual

Well, I have to admit this summer has not been quite as exciting as last summer.
Partly because it's just too hot to go outside and partly because there's really not much to do around here. We're going to break out a little this weekend and try for a beach trip. We had one planned for last Saturday, but the hurricane influenced to stay inside and away from the beach.

Other than a beach trip there's not much else going on. Just the same routine of work, meetings, church, etc. Since the summer means vacations, most of our friends have been gone. We're all starting to get back into the swing of things so hopefully that will lead to more adventurous things. During the summer me and Lance's favorite activity has been the second run movie theater. Tickets are only $3 so we usually go there on a date night every week or two. Not bad, but I can't wait to get out and see some fun places.

July Vacation round 1

Had a few minutes and I decided to upload some pictures from our July vacation in Cali. These pics are from the first few days. Who knows if I'll add the rest but at least this is a start.

Pool Party! Had fun swimming with everyone in mom's pool.

Back From Florida

I got back from the Florida Keys last night. I've been there all week working as a nanny for some wonderful friends. I spent a lot of time in the beach house playing with my 2 year old but I did get out a few times. My favorite was a quick outing at a sea life park. I saw lots of sea turtles there and got a kiss from Sherman the dolphin. During the week I also went ocean kayaking with my friend Jessica and spent some time on a boat. During the boat trip I saw lots of jellyfish, a sea turtle and a manatee.

Lance picked me up from the airport last night and reminded me what an amazing husband he is. Not only did I come home to a clean house, but I got to relax and drink sparkling cider while he gave my achy airplane body a massage.

Our cat had gone missing the night before I left and Lance was able to find her while I was away. As soon as our kitty saw me she's been all over me like velcro. Nice to feel missed and definitely nice to be back home!

For our sunday afternoon drive we visited the abandon Rockefeller Mansion that's hidden on base. We almost couldn't find it but had some luck. It's too bad the army is letting it fall apart. Still, it was a fun way to spend the afternoon. Lance loved driving down the dirt roads, and covering the car with mud.
