The little zoo

We had a great time at the little local zoo yesterday. It's the perfect size for Aria to walk around and talk to all the animals. We started out by feeding the giraffe. Aria fed him some carrots. We bought a bag of bread and popcorn to feed the animals throughout our visit. We had a great time watching the monkeys and feeding them. The tigers and the bear were up and about as we arrived early enough in the day to catch them awake. We took the hay ride and fed camels, bison, gazelle, sheep, pigs and cattle along the way. Several of the smaller animals were able to escape their pen and follow the hay ride for any crumbs dropped along the way. Back at the main part of the zoo we pet horses, a skunk, an alligator, cows, a Burmese python, and a pig. Not bad for a short morning stroll at the zoo!

It's Been Too Long

It's time we start blogging again. Yesterday we went to a new state park just minutes from our house. It was beautiful. We walked through a meadow to a large pond. The water was so still it looked like a large mirror. There were also some old buildings from the Rockefeller's winter home though they aren't open to the public. Rue had a great time swimming. Lance caught a little green snake. Surprisingly we didn't get eaten up by mosquitos which made it a lovely evening.
